I love visiting WI groups; the Women’s Institute is now as much of a force to be reckoned with as it ever was, with new groups springing up all over the country and membership numbers on the up.
On Friday, I visited a fabulous group at WI House in Northampton. We spent the morning decorating chocolate cupcakes with sugarpaste roses and handmade sugar bows. There was the obligatory sprinkling of edible glitter and a liberal helping of Tom Hardy appreciation – very hard to concentrate on anything whilst thinking about Mr. Hardy, but we rallied and cupcakes were completed!
Here are a few of the fantastic creations that left the workshop.
I am very proud to be a registered WI speaker in Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire. We have such a giggle in class! So when I was asked to attend the WI Fair at Alexandra Palace with Cake Decoration & Sugarcraft Magazine next week, I jumped at the chance.
I will be baking on the Live Kitchen Stage with the wonderful Nigel Brown as my most glamorous assistant. If you are coming along to the show, you can see me at the following times:
Thursday 30th March 1:30pm – Lemon Drizzle Cake
Friday 31st March 1:30pm – Key Lime Pie
It’s Spring so I thought some zesty recipes in lemon and lime would be about right. Also, I have absolutely no problem in feeding as many of you as I can from the stage so get seats up the front!
I’ll hope to see some of you there!
And, if you would like me to visit your WI group, chat to your Chairwoman today.
Stay gorgeous!
