Good afternoon, you gorgeous lot.
It’s been a toasty day thusfar in my kitchen as I prepare for Foodies Festival this weekend. There are ingredients to weigh out for my live baking demonstrations, cakes to bake for my cake decorating demonstrations, and all manner of kit to pack.
So if you are in or around the London area this weekend, I would love to see you at Foodies Festival on Blackheath Common from Friday to Sunday… hopefully, in the glorious summer sunshine!
You will be able to find me in the Cake & Bake Theatre twice daily.
At 12:30pm I will be baking my Pistachio & Raspberry Cake. The recipe is already up on my Recipe page for you to try at home! Of course, there is always that ‘one I made earlier’ with which I will be able to show you exactly how to level off your layers of cake and assemble into the most glorious treat, covered in Raspberry Buttercream and topped with piped rosettes.
My 2:30pm demonstration is a little bit of Burlesque Baking… that’s getting icing onto cake and the art of covering up! If you have ever wanted to make your own cakes that little bit more glamorous, I will be able to give you an introduction to the secrets of working with sugarpaste and royal icing. I’ll even make a few simple sugar flowers too!
So you can expect to learn a great deal in 30 minutes with me AND I’m not taking those cakes home with me so make sure you come hungry. First come, first served and I’ll try to feed as many of you as humanly possible.
All the details that you need are on the Foodies Festival website.
Stay gorgeous!
