Weekend Bakes: Reviving a Classic

It’s all go here at the moment. The car is being packed to groaning point with some of my favourite frocks, more shoes than I need, and more hats than I can conceivably wear in a weekend! Yes, I’m heading down to The Goodwood Revival.

I’ll be back in the Kenwood Kitchen (on the High Street next to Tesco, for those in the know) demonstrating some rather delicious treats with a nod to Roald Dahl in his centenary year.

It’s a bit of a funny one as when I first spoke to Kenwood about my ideas a few weeks ago, I planned a little tribute to Willy Wonka in cake, which feels oh so appropriate since the sad passing of Gene Wilder. He will be very much present in my performance still, which is dedicated to him… if only I could master that trick fall!

I’ll also be making the most disgustingly decadent Chocolate Fudge Cake and going the full Trunchbull on my audience. Much like poor Bruce Bogtrotter before them, no-one will be permitted to leave the Kenwood Kitchen until every last slice of cake is eaten.

So if you are lucky enough to be making your own way to The Goodwood Revival this weekend, here are my stage times. There will be cake in each demonstration and you are welcome to join me for a slice afterwards, where I will also be selling and signing copies of my book Deliciously Decorated.
