Wedding Cake Wednesday: Relaxed Elegance

I maintain that this is the perfect theme for any Wedding in the first week of January. Annie and Frederick wanted their Wedding to feel relaxed but elegant.

Their Wedding Cake was tiers of post-festive diet busting Chocolate Mud Cake, Victoria Sponge, and Passionfruit Drizzle. The choice of flavours was intended to reflect their heritage – Victoria Sponge being the most English of cakes, and Passionfruit reflecting Annie’s family home in Florida. Being a bespoke service allows me the freedom to get creative in my kitchen. A Passionfruit Drizzle was a unique bake for this lovely couple.

Keeping the relaxed feel, the cake was covered in pale vanilla buttercream and textured to give it an organic lines finish. Stacked together this cake was looking very chic.

Adorned only with simple sprays of anemones, eucalyptus leaves, hydrangeas, and gypsophelia this cake oozed easy glamour and fit perfectly into the surroundings of The Trafalgar Tavern on the banks of the River Thames.

This really was the perfect start to my 2017 Wedding schedule and I couldn’t have wished for a sweeter couple to work with.
