… equals one very busy week!
I wanted to share these pictures of the two Wedding Cakes that I baked, decorated, and hand delivered last week. This really shows how fabulous my job is! Because I am committed to creating bespoke cakes for every couple that I work with, my Wedding Cakes can end up being at completely different ends of the cake spectrum.
On Monday, I delivered the ultimate English Summertime Wedding Cake. Tiers covered in white Vanilla Buttercream, topped with fresh Strawberries.
Very much like our English summer, this cake concealed something dark and stormy within… my Chocolate Mud Cake! Yum.
The second Wedding Cake was four tiers of sugarcraft and the top tier was a birdcage cake.
I loved working on this because my Bride, Sarah-Jane, was super involved in the creative side of her own cake and even sent me her own sketch of exactly how she wanted her cake to look! When I meet up with my couples for a consultation, I send a sketch of how I think the cake should look and we work on this together, but this was the first time I have had a cake sketch back! I was so excited that I made only one suggestion and worked to Sarah-Jane’s sketch!
When you are getting a bespoke cake design, you can be as involved as you want to be and I hope that Sarah-Jane’s cake will inspire you to get involved in your own!
This cake featured Cake Lace, an edible sugar lace, which I used around one tier and on the LOVE letters. I made sugar roses and got handy with my piping bag to make all of those hand-piped pearl details. Oh, and this Wedding Cake was 100% gluten free too so, if you have any dietary requirements, never feel that this should affect your cake design!
This week’s Wedding Cake is completely different again… well, you wouldn’t want me to get bored now, would you?
