The Cake & Bake Show Manchester PICTURES

Good morning, you gorgeous lot! I spent the most wonderful weekend in Manchester at The Cake & Bake Show.

If I’m honest, this trip was something of a treat as I was only teaching on the Sunday… I got to visit the show on Saturday as a lady of leisure! I browsed the stalls, caught up with friends, and even treated myself to a few bits to add to my own cake decorating kit.

If you missed the shows in London and Manchester this year, you did miss out BUT there is always 2017.

Here is what we got up to in Manchester…

I got my hands on the latest issue of Cake Decorating Heaven Magazine, with my simple Geode Cake tutorial on the front cover. Cover girl, oh yes.

I got to offer my congratulations to Great British Bake Off winner, Candice Brown. She’s a fabulous lady and I like her style.

I giggled over cake. Standard.

I caught up with Leeanne Cooper, the rather awesome editor of Cake Decoration & Sugarcraft Magazine. We bored all around us by talking about music, being bass playing babes, and planning roadtrips.

I plugged my books… subtly of course! This is actually me showing off my Beauty & The Beast Cake from Deliciously Decorated before demonstrating how to make the wired sugar rose in the picture. I’m plugging too!

I signed copies of my books at The Big Green Bookshop. They have a fabulous leather chair that I can never sit in. If I sat in that chair, I would never get out! Not in this fab wiggle dress and stiletto heels! This is my latest frock from Voodoo Vixen, which has been proving a bit popular online and has just sold out again… if this baker can rock it, anyone can.

My red frock from Saturday is from Glamour Bunny. So many of you were asking were I get my outfits from. My awesome laser cut poppy is from Claireabella’s Closet. Isn’t it perfect? We observed the 2 minute silence in the Green Room on Remembrance Sunday, a special moment to share with my fellow bakers. Though it got awkward when we realised we had forgotten to stop being silent after 2 minutes… we got to around 3 1/2 before anyone dared be the first to speak!

It was a pleasure to meet so many of you and to chat about cakes and sugarcraft.

If Manchester was just a little too far north for you, I am pleased to say that I will be in London this weekend for Foodies Festival Xmas at Truman Brewery. Come along from Friday 18th – Sunday 20th November for food and festive fun, plus yours truly baking with some rather fabulous celebrity guests. More on this to come later this week but all the details are up on social media. Are you following me? I’m across all major platforms as @restorationcake and I’d love to chat!

And who could say no to a chat with this goofy gal? Thanks to Chris for taking these fab pictures.

Stay gorgeous!
