My Marilyn Monroe Cake in this month’s Sainsbury’s Magazine!

When the rather wonderful Leah Hyslop contacted me about taking part in a piece that she was writing called ‘The History Girls’ for Sainsbury’s Magazine, I said yes without hesitation!

I am beyond thrilled with the result.

You will have to pick up a copy from your local Sainsbury’s to read the article in full and to see the amazing shots of my fellow foodies, Lulu Gwynne and Dr Annie Gray, and to read our recipes.

However, I can offer you a treat via my brand new chef page on the Sainsbury’s Magazine website. Click on the picture below to check out my Glitzy White Chocolate Cake recipe and adorable mini-video of the cake being decorated.

UPDATE: This recipe is now available online! Click here to get it.

I love the shot of me in the magazine. It was taken by the incredible Matt Monfredi, who totally put me at my ease to pose it up – not that I really need much encouragement! My hair and make up was by Natasha Hall of Pretty Me Vintage; I don’t think I have felt more sassy and she totally nailed my eyebrows so much so that I couldn’t stop looking at them all day and didn’t want to wash them off. The curse of the natural blonde (yes, beneath the peroxide) is no natural eyebrows!

I also took some sneaky BTS shots on the day, which I have been itching to share with you…

My dress was the Bardot dress by The House of Foxy. I love this dress so much and it is now available in a glorious blush pink, just in time for wedding season. Click here to look at pretty dresses and lose half an hour or more.

The June 2017 issue of Sainsbury’s Magazine is out now and you can order a copy online by clicking here.

Stay gorgeous!
