NEW Marshmallow Meringue Frosting!

At Restoration Cake, I pride myself on trying to be just that little bit different at all times…

As such, when I was asked to create a cake covered only in frosting and flowers, I wanted to do something a little Restoration with it.

Behold, this cake is covered with my new Marshmallow Meringue Frosting!

This frosting is made using the same techniques as making meringue but contains serious amounts of LittlePod Vanilla, which makes it taste (and smell!) divine. The texture of this meringue is soft and sticky, perfect for Wedding Cakes that will be served as dessert… not so clean to eat with fingers sadly! It tastes just like marshmallow and I’m so in love. It has a wonderful sheen to it that you cannot get with buttercream.

Oh, and the flavours concealed within were Victoria Sponge, Lemon Drizzle, and Salted Caramel cakes. These were served to guests as their dessert course with fresh fruit and cream. Salivating, are we?

The real stars of this cake were the beautiful blooms arranged by Steph Turpin at Fairynuff Flowers. I never cease to be amazed by Steph’s floral artistry. She is truly amazing and these flowers brought the cake to life.

If you were considering a buttercreamed cake, this might be a fabulous alternative to consider. A frosting that will truly wow your guests.
