I Would Love to Bake a Cake for… Chris White

Today is a very special day; today is our seventh Wedding Anniversary. The years seem to be flying by at an alarming rate.

Each year, I share this video of our Wedding, filmed and edited into a quick music video by the wonderful Mark Lenik. I maintain that we were right to blow the budget on this… it is a joy to watch and remember on this day.

Our Wedding was beyond awesome. If we did it again today, it would undoubtedly look very different as our styles have changed, new friends have entered our lives, and (sadly) there are loved ones no longer with us.

What would not change would be my choice of groom. I wouldn’t even swap him for Martin Kemp.

Chris is my favourite human. He has supported me through redundancy and a crazy idea to set up a cake business. He has carried my kit to food festival after food festival and never complains when filming in our kitchen means that he is not allowed to make a cup of tea or a noise. He makes me laugh every day and he knows when I am hungry.

Anyone who knows him knows that Chris would give any of his friends his last Rolo and I am beyond proud to be married to him. He is decent and kind and I love him.

I’m not going to say any more, I am going to go and make my Husband a nice breakfast and wait for an appropriate hour at which to crack open something boozy and bubbly to mark another year as a White.

I would love to bake a cake for Chris White but he knows that, as Husband to a baker, he is destined for a life of offcuts and recipe testing! Hopefully he doesn’t mind too much.

Stay gorgeous!
