Happy Weekend: Foodies Festival Blackheath Common 8th-10th July

Well, we made it through the week. I think that you deserve some recognition for this. It’s not been the easiest of weeks here in the UK.

So I am taking a lazy, leisurely weekend with Chris. We have resolved to do a few chores around the house and I will be continuing my kitchen planning ahead of the big re-fit at the end of September. Would you like a sneaky peak at the design?

I have the most wonderful designer at Wickes working with me on this and you can be assured of plenty of pictures as and when my current cupboards are ripped out and the red quartz worktops move in!

I’m now obsessed with Etsy and browsing all kinds of incredible kitchenware. Forgive me for shouting but I’VE FOUND BOWIE TEA TOWELS!

If you are at a loss for plans next weekend, I hope that you will come at join me at Foodies Festival in Blackheath Common, London Friday 8th, Saturday 9th, and Sunday 10th July. OK, it’s the Greenwich end of town, which is not the easiest to get to BUT is one of the prettiest parts of town. Foodies is well worth the effort because…

Pistachio & Raspberry Cake2

…I will be there with cake! I’ll be doing two demonstrations per day; baking and decorating a Pistachio & Raspberry Cake at 12:30pm and showing you a little Burlesque Baking at 2:30pm each day of the show. Apparently it is fairly rare for a chef to do two different demonstrations but I get bored easily and want to feed you twice daily!

You can find me in the Cake & Bake Theatre and, yes, the cakes that I decorate are cut and shared at the end of each demonstration – if you behave yourselves, that is. If you can’t make this show, check out my Events page for more dates. You can get an idea of what to expect from a day at Foodies from the little film I made at Syon Park last month.

Don’t forget to tune in to The Weekend Kitchen with Nick Coffer on BBC 3 Counties Radio 11am Sunday 3rd July for my American inspired bakes.

Have a happy weekend and stay gorgeous.
