Good morning, you gorgeous lot!
I was lucky enough to spend Sunday at The Craft Bakers & Butchers Extravaganza in Harrogate, with the lovely people from California Walnuts.
Frankly, I am thrilled to work with any ingredient that makes my bakes one of my five-a-day! If you are one of the many people I have spoken too who do not like walnuts because they are bitter tasting, please know this… walnuts are not supposed to be bitter. If your walnuts are bitter, they have gone off!
As with California Raisins, California Walnuts are processed naturally and can be found in many shops – just check the ‘country of origin’ on the back of the packet and look for USA or California.
When I was asked to create a recipe to partner my summer California Raisin Scones, I went savoury for a rare moment! My Goat’s Cheese & California Walnut Scones have an autumnal feel to them that makes me crave these warm from the oven with a nice cup of tea on a cold, crisp day.
Click on the image above to check out the recipe and let me know if you try them out at home.
Stay gorgeous!
