It’s taken me a little longer than I would have liked to share these pictures. From Brighton, I went directly into a very busy week in my kitchen with little time for looking through the many photos on my phone!
If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you may well have seen some of these pictures already but I wanted to compile them all here. I wanted to show you all how much fun we had at Foodies Festival Brighton ahead of this coming weekend, in which the Foodies tourbus hits Bristol!
No, we are not doing the country in alphabetical order…
Here are some of my favourite shots from Mayday Bank Holiday weekend on Hove Lawns.

A nice establishing shot of the Cakes & Desserts Theatre, my home for the summer!

With the reigning GBBO winner, the gorgeous Candice Brown, and her delicious Banoffee Pie (that lasted all of 20 seconds once the crowd got their spoons into it!)

Prep kitchen pout-off with Candice!

#winning with TWO winning ladies… Jane Devonshire, Masterchef Winner 2016 and Candice Brown, GBBO Winner 2016

A personal highlight of the weekend was interviewing Jane Devonshire while her savoury muffins were in the oven! Not only did they smell delicious but it was a delight to get to know Jane better.

Our glam game was strong in Brighton! Sarah Sibley of Bake with Sarah was on hand to serve rockabilly realness, cupcakes, and vegan bundt cake.

In Brighton, we served ALL the winners with Mark Tilling, GBBO Creme de la Creme Winner 2016, demonstrating his famous chocolate skills with a stunning mirror glaze technique.

Sarah and I were thrilled to catch up with Jane Beedle, GBBO Finalist 2016, who visited the show to pick up tips from Mark Tilling!

I couldn’t resist getting a cuddle from Mark Tilling! He’s gorgeous and makes chocolatey things… what’s not to like? Catch him at our Syon Park show on Monday 29th May (click picture for details)

As we travel the country, I am passionate about bringing you the very best local talent. Laura Petersen is Head Pastry Chef at The Salt Room in Brighton and one seriously talented lady.

Laura Petersen is definitely one to watch! Her macaroons were delicious and she made making them look sooooo easy.

I did do some actual work over the weekend… this is me, bashing my biscuits for a Key Lime Pie! Getting some aggression out!

Constantly impressed by the skill of my fellow cake designer Fay Millar of Brighton Cakes. In her demos, she showed us how she created this stunning birthday cake for YouTube star Zoella.

Another debut in Brighton… this time for John Holland of Baker on Board who created the most delicious California Carrot Cake using rum-soaked California Raisins. You’ll be seeing this wonderful baker again!

John Holland with his California Carrot Cake. Both baker and cake, simply gorgeous!

We ended our show by serving up EVERYTHING that we baked on the last day! The mother of all afternoon teas (with my California Raisin Scones baking in the oven by my knees!) was served in the End of the Show Show. There were Pinkster Gin cocktails too to wrap a fantastic three-day show.
For those of you who love a little vintage repro fashion, the outfits above were as follows:
Day One = Mandy Dress by Collectif
Day Two = Nicolette Floral Swing Dress by Voodoo Vixen, Gina 50s Jacket by Glamour Bunny
Day Three = Zarah Striped Jumpsuit by Voodoo Vixen, Gina 50s Jacket by Glamour Bunny
You won’t want to miss the Foodies Festival this summer. There are plenty more amazing chefs to see and fun to be had! Just click here to find an event near you.
Stay gorgeous!
