Fashion on Friday: Wisteria Hysteria

As we start to put Summer fashion to bed and dream of tartan prints, heavy fabrics, and gloves (oh, the gloves I have in waiting for Autumn/Winter!), there are still a few more sunny day dresses to be enjoyed. I wanted to share this beauty with you.

The Hysteria Floral Wisteria Print Dress from Joanie Clothing looks and feels far more pricey than it’s £45 price tag. The pleating is stunning and I love the neckline. It is so flattering.

Comfortable enough to wear all day and, because it washes easily at 30 degrees, you can work and play in it too without worry!

I accessorised my frock with a lavender belt from Hell Bunny, earrings from Mid Century Missy, a pair of perfect sparkly almond-toe court shoes from Marks & Spencer (available colours change each season), and purple hair. My top tip for anyone who dyes their hair blonde and finds themselves with naff roots just before a touch-up appointment is Manic Panic!

I used Purple Haze by Manic Panic with a pasteliser to make the colour a little softer. Manic Panic are fab because all of their hair colours are completely cruelty free. My pasteliser comes from Superdrug and is also not tested on animals, which makes me very happy. I’m rubbish at dying my hair and I can just about manage with this!

Back to my gorgeous dress… one thing I really like about Joanie Clothing is that, while their designs are inspired by vintage styles, they are not completely vintage-looking; there is something quite modern in the shorter length of the skirt (which is still long enough for stockings). I think that this dress would be great for anyone who likes the vintage way of dressing but does not want to feel too ‘fancy dress’. The Hysteria Floral Wisteria Print Dress would be a perfect pick for a late Summer or early Autumn event.

I had a little play in my wardrobe and found the perfect early Autumn combo for this dress. The colour works perfectly with my new (to me) pale leather jacket from Oasis.

Of course, I own a beret to match every possible outfit! This lavender number works like a dream. I added my pale blue earrings and necklace from Splendette to tether the blue notes to the ensemble.

Cheeky leaning-in shot to get the shoes in too…

My only problem now is that I am mildly obsessed with the new season arrivals at Joanie Clothing (click here if you dare) and have several things lined up on my Autumn wishlist. As ever, I am longing for the nights to draw in with little regard for such practicalities as heating costs and shorter days.

Stay gorgeous!
