I met the lovely ladies from Joanie Clothing at This Morning Live a few sunny weekends ago. I instantly fell in love with their fun designs, picked up a pair of sunglasses that are now permanently attached to my face, and ordered a few bits.

Swag from This Morning Live. Yes, I bought a Mermaid Blanket!
I wanted to share the Dixie Polka Dot Pencil Dress with you today.
Most of the photos that follow were taken at Foodies Festival Syon Park over the last Bank Holiday weekend. It was ridiculously hot so I am a brighter shade of pink than usual!
This dress is perfect for chic summer wearing. In light cotton with a stretch, the frock breathes whilst also hugging the curves nicely. It’s not easy to be a pin-up in the heat when you are not built for hot weather!

It does not matter that the length is perhaps a tiny bit short for stockings because the dress is perfect for those days when you want to brave bare legs.
Obviously, you could wear tights. As a regular stocking-wearer, I just can’t stand wearing tights. I’d rather flash my blindingly white pins at you than walk around with a baggy crotch! Yuck! The struggle is real.
I teamed my Dixie Dress with a red patent belt from Collectif to match my red patent peeptoe heels. These shoes come out every year – they came from Dune maybe 8 years ago, they’ve been re-heeled, re-soled, and well-loved! I would replace them if I ever found a pair that were as perfect as they are.
I covered up when it got cold with the Olympia Open Weave Cardigan, also from Joanie Clothing.

If you like your retro-inspired pieces with a modern twist, I highly recommend that you check out Joanie Clothing. Perfect for those who want to try out vintage styling without feeling too costumed up. I’m a big fan now.
Stay gorgeous!
