There could have been no more perfect frock for a day by the sea than the Brette Striped Swing Dress from Collectif.
For the first day of Foodies Festival 2018, I chose this navy and white striped number with its delicate anchor-shaped buttons to metaphorically sail into the new season!
My absolute favourite detail of this dress is its perfect scooped v-neck neckline.
In a fabric light enough to cope with a warm day, yet sturdy enough to go into the evening with a jacket, I knew from the first try on that this was going to become a wardrobe favourite. Then I threw Sticky Toffee Pudding mix at myself and THEN dripped soy sauce all down my lap. I was devastated, being a few days away from my washing machine. Had I ruined my dress on its first outing?
I am happy to report that I hadn’t. All offending food traces came out in a 30 degree wash with a little Vanish stick rubbed on for good measure. Huzzah!
My earrings were a present from me to me from Mid Century Missie. Click here to visit her Etsy store; it is full of gorgeous things so you won’t regret it. Remember, I have zero tolerance for heavy earrings so you can take my word for it that they are as light as a feather.
Because I am incapable of visiting Brighton without popping into the Collectif shop (29 Bond Street, Brighton), I managed to pick up the perfect pair of slingbacks to complement this dress. The Luiza High Heel is seriously comfortable. Seriously, I wore them all day.
Our first show was such a hit that I am still on Cloud 9 and very excited for our first day in Bristol today. The Foodies Festival will be on Durdham Downs from today until Sunday 13th May.
Here’s hoping that the Bristol Downs are every bit as beautiful as Brighton.
Stay gorgeous!
