It was love at first sight; the moment that I saw this dress, I knew that it would have to be mine!
That deep green plaid/tartan, the wiggle, the faux fur trim. Could this dress be any more perfect?
The Rachel dress is a collaboration between Voodoo Vixen and Chicago Chic Blog. Whilst I was under no illusions that the dress would look as stunning on me as on its model, I knew that I could style it out!
The dress ended up becoming my go-to frock for a run of Christmas shows at the end of 2016. Each time I wore it out, it garnered compliment after kind compliment. It’s the kind of dress that makes you stand a little taller… though that could also have been the corset because this dress looks so good corsetted.
That’s me, serving Christmas realness right there. Now that the festive season is well and truly behind us, I am still in love with this frock and have figured out how to wear it for January… I’ve made it fierce.
The mid-calf length of this dress is just begging to be paired with knee-high stiletto boots. These boots, with their metallic heels and buckle details came from River Island about 6yrs ago. I re-heel them every winter and they keep on going. An outfit like this is my version of power-dressing. Tight and long, without the fluff of faux fur, this dress is a force to be reckoned with.
It is also both machine washable AND in the sale on Voodoo Vixen’s website. Go! Full price, it is a steal at only £50, but £45 sale price is daylight robbery.
To be honest, I’m far too goofy to pull off fierce. I can try though!
Stay gorgeous!Cxx
