The day is finally here!
I want to wish each and every one of you hosting or visiting a World’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Macmillan Cancer Support all the luck and love in the world. I hope that you eat far too much and raise loads of money for this incredible charity.
Each Coffee Morning, there is a part of me that remembers my darling Grandad, who we lost to cancer in 2010. He is still a big presence in our family and still the man who taught me to blag – he was a salesman and a charmer through and through so if I have ever charmed you out of anything, he is the man you have to blame!

Grandad with my Mum, apples don’t fall far from trees in our family

I say ‘inspired by’ as I realised that I had put the red and blue the wrong way around (the blue should be on the left) and was plunged into a moment of intense self-loathing at my own stupidity. I’m massively discombobulated by the kitchen chaos it seems. I was so upset in the moment I discovered my mistake that I considered throwing all four dozen away. Then I pulled myself together. Nobody’s perfect, right?
Let’s just pretend that they are perfect. They will taste fantastic.
I will be at 44 Harpur Street for two events in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support today. Firstly, from 12pm until 2pm, I will be hanging out at a very special No Fuss Networking event.
Mr. George (the dog!) and I will be welcoming small business owners and freelancers for a Macmillan Coffee Morning and networking event. Refreshments are provided and this is a ticketed event so if you fancy this networking opportunity, click on the picture below and join us from midday!
If, however, you are not a freelancer or a business owner and you have to work all day… come and join me later from 4pm until late at my vinyl party. Also kindly hosted by 44 Harpur Street, I will be there with MORE cake, MORE Bowie cookies, music, bubbly and my rock’n’roll raffle. Click on the poster below for full details.
The statistics for how many of us will be affected by cancer in our lifetimes are truly shitty. An organisation like Macmillan provides vital support to both patient and families. I’ve seen their work first hand. You may have too. You will agree that they are the real heroes in this piece.
However many of my heroes cancer decides to take.
We’ll not be fundraising in mourning; but rather dancing into the night with cake, bubbly, and great tunes! Bring a cake. Bring a bottle. Bring a record. Bring your money!
Stay gorgeous!
