It all starts with a conversation
Don’t all the best ideas start in this way? Over a cup of tea or a glass of bubbly! You may have seen a few cakes that you like or have no idea how you would like your Wedding Cake to look.
Even better, you may have seen a few nice cakes but nothing right for you. This is what makes the consultation so important; if you tell me all about your wedding plans, I can design the perfect Wedding Cake for you.
Oh, and I’ll feed you some cake samples too.
“I was planning my wedding from overseas in America, and had given a written explanation of what I wanted to Charlotte through email, she magically turned these into exact sketches that were everything we had envisioned for our cake. She gave us a couple of different options so we could decide what we liked best, the sketches were amazing and exactly how the cake turned out”

Sketching up the ideas
After our initial consultation, I will retire to my desk and draw up a sketch of how I imagine a cake to fit into your scheme. I’ll send this sketch over to you by email along with a quote for the cake for your consideration.
This is all part of the consultative creative process. I want you to tell me what bits of the design you like and which bits you don’t like and I’ll sketch until I get your design right.
I have not included an extensive gallery of my previous Wedding Cakes on this website as you may not see exactly what you want and I can create exactly what you are dreaming of, using your inspirations or from scratch. My previous work is easy to browse online, on my Pinterest boards, Instagram or Facebook.
Baking your cake
I take great pride in being able to bake a really delicious cake. Let’s face it, if a Wedding Cake does not taste as good as it looks, it has failed! You can choose any flavours that you like and rest assured in the knowledge that they will be made from the freshest, organic, and cruelty-free ingredients.
My most popular flavours are Chocolate Mud, Lemon Drizzle, Red Velvet, Victoria Sponge, Spiced Carrot,
Salted Caramel, Peanut Butter, Banana, and I make a boozy Fruitcake too!
Any special dietary requirements can be catered for from Gluten Free to Vegan, with Eggless, Nut Free, and Dairy Free cakes no problem either. Just let me know at the outset.
This cake waits for no one
There is no nice way to say ‘control freak’ but as part of my commitment to making your cake, I will either deliver and assemble your cake in-situ personally or delegate to a trusted member of my team. Many Wedding Cakes need to be set up in their final position so I will liaise with your venue to ensure that this takes place smoothly. Between your venue and I, we will have done this hundreds of times so leave the logistics and any stress to us!
Once you have paid for your cake (terms are a 50% deposit on booking and balance due 4 weeks before your date) all you need to do is sit back and look forward to enjoying your first slice of cake as a married couple.
“I just wanted to say THANK YOUUUU once again for creating us the most perfect cake! It was so gorgeous and exactly what we wanted. It also tasted amazing as everyone ate every bit of it and left us with nothing! Each layer got great reviews everyone wanted to try each one!!”

Frequently asked questions
How much does a bespoke Wedding Cake cost?
This one is hard to answer as each cake is priced according to the time that is required to make it. If you opt for many tiers, festooned in hand-made sugar flowers, this is going to cost more than a simple design. Please remember that you are employing a human to make your cake and this will cost more than a cake that is baked on an industrial scale. Your cake will taste all the better for this!
Let me know at the outset if you have a budget that we need to keep to so that I can design with this in mind.
As a budgeting guide – 3-tiered cakes start from £500, 4-tiered cakes from £650
This cost includes consultation, design, use of a cake stand and knife (if required)
Cake stands and knives to be returned in the week following the Wedding, loss or damage incurs a £75 fee
Can we have more than one flavour of cake?
You can have as many flavours as you have tiers! Plus, because of the dowelling rods that are used to construct your cake, you do not need to worry about the weight of the cakes – so you do not need to have a fruitcake at the bottom to support the sponge cakes on top. In fact, you do not need to have fruitcake at all if you do not like it.
Where are you based and where will you deliver to?
I am based in beautiful Bedford and regularly deliver all over the country. I try to keep delivery costs as low as possible and can quote accurately for this as soon as I have your venue location.
Can you cater to special dietary requirements?
I most certainly can! I can make any of my designs Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Egg Free, and/or Vegan. Let me know any allergies at the outset and I will be able to advise you on the best options.
Do you cater for Gay Weddings?
Of course! I am proud to be a listed supplier and regular contributer to G Wedding Directory and The Big Gay Wedding Directory and I even made a ‘secret rainbow’ cake for one of the legal teams who were instrumental in passing the Equal Marriage Act in 2014.
